As we adjust to our new normal, what will wedding and other ceremonies look like? As venues around Central Florida start to reopen, couples are choosing to have in person celebrations. Embracing safety precautions.
How to plan your wedding or celebration in the new normal
Choose Practical Favors
Instead of sweets or candles, wedding favors can be sanitizer in stylish dispensers and masks that coordinate with the wedding colors and theme.
Take It Outside
Celebrations can take place outside, in the fresh air with chairs adjusted for distance. Or under an open air tent, depending on the weather.
Social Distancing
Make it fun, as guests arrive, chairs can be placed for families or groups who are together. This can go for the ceremony and reception.
What About Dinning?
Instead of self serve buffet dinners, opt for smaller plated meals. According to the Knot’s Future of Weddings, “Not only will this serve as a health and safety precaution, but it will also allow guests to explore different entertainment experiences throughout the festivities.”
Have Guests Arrive At Different Times
All the guests don’t have to arrive at the same time. Staggering them can help with social distancing.
“More than anything, people won’t take one second of celebrating for granted,” Christie Altendorf from D’Amico Catering told The Knot. “Raising a glass at an engagement party, enjoying a lovely meal at the rehearsal dinner, or showering the couple with petals as they walk down the aisle together will be appreciated more than ever before. While there are few silver linings to these circumstances, it has served as an incredible lesson in the power of togetherness.”
